My daughter finally makes an appearance
On Tuesday the 12th of January at 12.12 (bit freaky) Dee gave birth to our second daughter Orla weighing in at 6lb 13. It was an incredible experience and one that will live with me forever. Dee has spent the last 41 days going backwards and forwards to hospital every day but looking at Orla it was all worthwhile. I would like to thank everyone for their kind messages during Dee's pregnancy and now I can't wait to get them back home so we can complete our family with Macey.
Calling for volunteers
Calling all newsletter readers. I'm looking for members to product test all the new stock for 2016 and give the newsletter readers feedback on what they have tested. I feel this is a better way of testing new product and getting a genuine feedback rather than just giving all the technical data. If you would like to be one of my guinea pigs then click here.
Jordan Spieth was a bit rusty
Did anybody witness the golf last weekend? Jordan Spieth after a winter break- 28 birdies and two eagles. It sounds similar to what the average club golfer may make in a year's golf and they'd be proud if they did, and rightly so! However these stats were achieved in just four rounds of golf by world number one, Jordan Spieth, at last week's Hyundai Tournament of Champions. Jordan played the 16 par-5s in 16-under-par, making the near 7,500 yard monster look as easy as a pitch and putt course. Some would be forgiven for starting the season with a little bit of rush to their game, but Spieth has shot out the blocks and laid down his intentions for what promises to be an intriguing 2016.
Bewdley 41 club visit the golf club
Last Monday the Bewdley 41 club came and used the swing studio followed by a meal. Organised by Bill Allen 18 members of the 41 club had a few tips from me, played the 10th on the Belfry, had a questions and answers session with myself followed by a meal.
From Bill Allen:
Just a very big thank you from Bewdley Club 41 for a marvellous Dinner and Social Night. The pre-dinner entertainment put on by Pat was a real hit! - Everyone commented on the great food and first class presentation.

Valentine's dinner- Saturday 13th of February
This looks like a great night. With live music and great food what better way to celebrate Valentine's.
Burns night- Saturday 23rd of January
This promises to be a great night with good food and entertainment. The menu is on the board in the lounge but I know they now have a different option if you don't fancy the traditional Scottish menu. If you speak to Lynn she can let you know the menu. The signup sheet is in the main lounge.
Another crazy week in the Pat cave
With the course being closed over the past few days the swing studio (Pats cave) has been extremely busy. I'm are still working on winter programmes with many of my clients and have been working on a few drills to help with their games. Take a look at just a few of my drills.
1.The correct downswing position and helping to understand the arc of a golf swing.
2.The perfect strike to maximise launch and ball speed.
3.Golf ball under the right heel to make the legs more active in the downswing to help square the blade at impact and to maximise club head speed.
What's the pro shop staff up to this week?
I will be away this week and back in Saturday afternoon from 12 for lessons and then in and out all next week making sure Dee and Orla are settled in at home. Noel is busy teaching and also hitting some shots getting himself ready for the season. My dad is steady with the trolley repairs and Ethan continues to be a great asset at the weekends for us.
