Only 4 weeks until the masters

Can you believe that we are only four weeks away from The Masters. With the rain battering us for most the Winter it's been hard to get in to any sort of routine in golf but all of a sudden the masters starts in four weeks time, this is the usual sign for our golfing season to get going. Let's hope we have a nice break in the weather and we can all have a great season of golf. 

Who's your money on for The Masters? Can you see a European winning? A European hasn't won the masters since Jose Marie Olazabal in 1999 so we are due a win. 

We will be running a sweep for The Masters in the shop along with a Masters open weekend where we will be putting on drinks and nibbles and having a sale on certain items so make sure you don't miss out on that weekend.

MOT has now finished 

Many members took advantage of our free MOT service. Giving the members the yardages of their wedges and checking their driver and also recommending a ball suitable for their game will pay dividends this season. 

Many thanks for all the members that took advantage and for those that missed out be quicker next time.

Now the season is up on us what's happening with fixtures? 

The B team kick off their 2016 campaign on Thursday, 17 March at home to Handsworth. 

Good luck to Stuart Fellows, our new B Team captain, let's hope you get off to a winning start. The start sheet for this day can be found on the website. 

The ladies start their league matches with a home match against Halesowen on Sunday the 20 March. 

Good luck ladies and hope you get a positive result. 

The seniors kick off their campaign with a away match against Stourbridge on Tuesday, 15 March. Good luck to Frank Concannon in his first match as seniors captain. 

We also start our Mid week competitions this month along with our Saturday competitions and Sunday stablefords. 

There has never been better opportunities to get your handicap down than in the last few years with lots and lots of competitions to play in.

A massive selection of woods 

At Kidderminster pro shop we have decided to invest heavily into hardware (clubs) for this season. With having the studio now and offer the best custom fit experience in the area we have decided to stock heavily and offer a large selection of clubs for everyone to see. 

We don't charge for custom fitting so if you feel you fancy trying something different then please do not hesitate in contacting me. We have irons sets from £199 upwards and woods from £69 upwards all available in custom fit.

       

Vokey fitting centre

At Kidderminster we are now a fitting centre for Vokey wedges (spelt correctly now thanks to Dave Wiggins). 

We have 22 wedges of different lofts, grinds and bounce angles for you to try and us to fit. 

We can fit all wedges to every golfer that plays the game both right and let handed. You can also have the wedges personalised with a message or a name stamped into the head. 

This week, Matt Rock came in and got fitted for some new Vokey SM6 wedges in the studio.

   

The story to the new Vokey is about centre of gravity and different grooves. 

These wedges are the best I have seen for some time. They really are worth trying.

Course information line

The course information line has been removed from the clubhouse number due to issues with the system. From now on if you need information regarding the course than please either look on the website of phone the shop. 

Remember we can only tell you the course status for that day, we can't tell you if the course will be open a week on Monday as you have a friend coming to play.

 

What's the staff up to this week? 

I'm still very busy with teaching and fitting as well as working hard towards the club getting golf mark. 

Noel is busy teaching and played last week and although stiff and rusty had a very enjoyable day. 

My Dad is busy repairing trolleys, and Ethan continues to work hard at weekends in between his studying.
