Last Saturday we attempted to host our men's spring pairs open, it looked more like the winter pairs open. I arrived at the club at 6.30am to heavy overnight rain and the course very wet, after another hour of rain the snow started coming down extremely thick and within minutes the course was white over.
Unfortunately we had to cancel the open because we had a full field and even when the weather improved we couldn't get the whole field around the course to complete their round.
This is a big disappointment for everyone involved but you can't do much about the weather.
Take a look at the photos from Saturday and the 24 hours later taken on Sunday morning at 8.30am.
What a difference.
We've had snow before in April.
Many members have come in to the shop this week saying they can't remember snow in April for a long time. I think with Easter being so early it's made it feel like the weather should be better than it is. In 2008 we had snow in April.
See the picture for proof.
Wear your club badge with pride
I've just taken delivery off the new club logoed clothing from Glenmuir. We have in stock slipovers, sweaters, zipped sweaters and shirts.
Please come and take a look at the clothing and see for yourself how good they are. All garments are cotton and are perfect for the summer.
Please contact us on 01562 740090 to discuss either of the above academy sessions.
Demo days coming your way - free of charge
We are holding 2 demo days in the next few weeks.
These are both free to come and try new product and see if these are better than the equipment your are currently using.
- PING fitting day - April 27 - 12:00 till 16:00 - TaylorMade fitting day - May 11 - 12:00 till 16:00
This week we will continue to push forward with our summer programme coaching and also individual lessons. It's nice to get outside now the weather is improving.
Pat's cave will continue to be used through the summer for fittings and general use but if the sun is shinning we can now head outside and start hitting some balls.
I took Macey back up the Albion on Saturday and I think they will ban us soon as we lost again and still haven't seen the albion score, even though we had two penalties!!!!!
Noel is busy coaching and is starting to play now. James has been excellent in the shop and is starting to understand how mad it is and how hard I am to work with.
Ethan has now passed his driving test so you will see him out on the road soon.
My Dad is now completely on top of the trollies so if you need any advice or repairs please come and see him.
Have a great week.
