Stourbridge come up trumps in the jubilee 

Last weekend was our Jubilee weekend against our neighbours, Stourbridge. 

The event has been going for 39 years now and although the format has changed over the years the fun and banter remains the same. Both course were set up excellent. The scores reflected the condition. A 61 at Kidderminster was the best score from Stourbridge and a 62 by Sam and Brian Inett. 

On Sunday at Stourbridge the scores were higher and the best score on Sunday was a 63. The winners of the bowl which is the best 12 scores from Kidderminster over the 2 rounds and the best 12 scores from Stourbridge over the 2 rounds and the winner were Stourbridge by 15 shots. 

A great weekend played in a wonderful spirit and we can't wait to play the event next year. Well done to Stourbridge and all the individual team winner including Steve Carter and Stuart Fellows and Sam Inett and Brian Inett for finishing in the top 6.

Anna is in the winners Circle 

W&H were Regional hosts for the Four Ball Better Ball Championship. Our England Golf Representative, Janice Kerr, organised and ran a great day at Blackwell GC. 

It was a lovely venue and attracted a quality field of players from most of the other counties in the Region. 

WINNERS

Sarah Cranton (Stourbridge GC) playing with Anna Rock (Kidderminster GC) scooped the gross prize and Championship with a magnificent gross 67. 

Junior camp in full swing

We have had a great take up for the junior camps this year. The kids have had a great time learning different shots as well as who can do the best happy Gilmore shot. 

We will be running camps in every school holiday so watch this space. 

   

Greens picking up pace

This week Rod had worked very hard in getting the greens rolling quicker. 

On Wednesday the green staff double verti cut and cut the greens. The greens went from 7 on the stimp meter to 9.5. 

The roll of the greens is excellent and the feedback has been very good.

 

Demo day again at Kidderminster September 13th 

We are very lucky at Kidderminster to not only have a studio with all the fitting equipment but also have a great practice ground where we can have the manufacturers come with their equipment to fit customer. 

The day is free and starts at 1pm and finishes at 5pm.

What's the staff up to this week? 

I'm away from Thursday for a week as I head down to Bude to make the most of the last week of the school holidays. Noel has been busy playing and teaching and will be looking after you with my Dad, James and Ethan.
