New product coming in
I was lucky to take a look at the new Titleist 917 driver and fairway woods.
Very impressive with an all new fitting process.
I will have the full fitting kit in around the 1st of October and the woods launch on the 21st of October.
I will write more about these woods once the fitting system comes in.
Know your rules
This week I have been asked by members to write about the water hazards and the rules and where you can drop and where you can't. If your ball is in a water hazard (yellow stakes and/or lines) you may play the ball as it lies or, under penalty of one stroke:
- Play a ball from where your last shot was played, or - Drop a ball any distance behind the water hazard keeping a straight line between the hole, the point where the ball last crossed the margin of the water hazard and the spot on which the ball is dropped.
If your ball is in a lateral water hazard (red stakes and/or lines), in addition to the options for a ball in a water hazard (see above), under penalty of one stroke, you may drop within two club-lengths of, and not nearer the hole than:
- The point where the ball last crossed the margin of the hazard, or - A point on the opposite side of the hazard equidistant to the hole from the point where the ball last crossed the margin.

Fitting day went well considering the weather
On Tuesday we ran a fitting day.
The fittings started at 1pm but with torrential rain and thunder and lightning we had to do the fittings in the studio.
Still a great day with many members taking advantage of the day and improving yardages and consistency.
A competition for all members
On Saturday, 15 October the president is hosting his annual competition. This competition is open to ALL members.
Please support this event. Start sheet is in the lounge.
Noel Noel get in the hole
A big congratulations to Noel Evans for getting his first hole in one last Saturday.
A perfect 5 iron took a couple of bounces and went directly in the hole.
Well done Noel.

The John Hay Cups played on Sunday, 11 September.
Sheila Chambers & Charles Tilling winning with the Lady President Annie Needham presenting the trophies.
