Just not quite good enough. As much as we don't like to admit America thoroughly deserved to win the Ryder Cup. Being 4-0 down in the Friday morning foursomes was always going to be a massive up hill challenge and although we won the afternoon fourballs 3-1 to go into the second day only 5-3 down it's was still a massive ask away from home. 

We came out well in the Saturday foursomes winning that session 2 1/2 - 1 1/2 to close the gap even more but I feel a massive turning point was Westwood and Willett's match, losing on the last after being up for a while, this shifted momentum to the Americans into the singles where they have always been very strong in that department. 

We loaded our big guns at the beginning which needed to be done but with Rory and Justin losing that was us done and dusted. You have to admire how good the Americans played especially Patrick Reed, he was the catalyst for the Americans all week. We do have a few super stars in the making, Thomas Pieters and Rafa Cabrera Bello who did a wonderful job and played so well so hopefully we can build on these performances and move forward. 

I do feel we didn't have the strongest of sides and I'm sure many would agree with wild card picks like Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer who unfortunately didn't perform questions will be asked of Darren Clarke's picks. However both are world class players one a major winner and the other having a great run in the American majors this year so maybe he thought they would deliver. It wasn't to be so let's get back to winning ways in Paris in two years time.

The shop has taken delivery of the new autumn and winter collection of UnderArmour. We have water proof suits, base layers, wind shirts and fleeces lined sweater. Amazing product as worn by many players on tour.

Heyes and Wilson on top

Congratulations to Alan Heyes and his guest Barry Wilson for winning the men's invitation on Saturday. The event got postponed a few weeks ago due to bad weather and after a few hours of heavy rain again we thought this event was doomed, however, Steve O'Conner and I ventured out, and swept the water off the 8th and 16th greens to make them playable and the event finally got played and competed. 

Alan and Barry came in with an amazing 47 points which included 2 2s.

Orla is now Christened

On Sunday we had Orla Christened. The christening took place at Cookley church, the same church me and Dee got married at and where Macey got Christened so it hold many great memories for me. 

We had a great day and the weather was amazing which always helps.
