New junior academy starting March
As mention in previous newsletters this year we are rebranding our academy and will have a new set up for March onwards.
We are looking to have smaller groups of children all of similar abilities and ages so we can help them move forward through stages and into membership. We are going into the schools in the next 6 weeks to deliver free golf sessions and each child will get a flyer with a invite into our academy.
The schools we have targeted are all within 3 miles of the golf club so nice and local.
Spennells Chaddersley Offmore Comberton Holy Trinity St Ambrose St George's King Charles
All being well we can get children back from these free sessions to the club and into our academies to help produce the future of golf.
Swing thought of the week.
Last week I showed you the good work we have done with Mark Baker in making his posture and swing better. I hope you enjoyed the images, we did have great feedback from you which is always nice.
This week I want to mention ball position. With the ground being wet it makes it harder to strike the ball correctly.
The best way in making sure you get the strike correct is to get the correction ball position. What we look for is the ball to be central with the short irons (SW, PW, 9) then as the clubs gets longer and the loft gets less start moving the ball closer to your front foot, around 1/2 inch per club.
The driver should be the most forward which is just inside your front foot (level with your ankle) This will help you strike the ball at the bottom of the arc of your swing and help you maximise your ball strike.
Studio taken full advantage of when the weather turns
Last Sunday the weather was shocking for the day.
At Kidderminster we are so lucky now to have a facility that keeps people coming through the doors no matter what the weather.
Members took advantage and played Royal Troon and also had self practice sessions.
This week is very busy at the start with coaching and fittings. I'm away playing Friday afternoon at Ludlow. Noel is sunning himself in Tenerife and return next Friday. My dad is very quite on the trolley front, it's usually down to less people playing golf this time of year, more people carry in the winter and the trolleys are made so much better now.
James continues to work hard and has nearly finished his first year of his apprenticeship. Ethan returns back at weekends from Cheltenham to work and has been excellent as always.
I hope you enjoy the rest of the newsletter, have a great week.
