Longer doesn't mean more distance
It's a little bit of a myth that the longer the swing the more distance you create. In the studio over the past week I have worked hard on many swings and most swings are long and disjointed. Remember the hands, arms and shoulders all work together and the club should go back as far as your shoulders can turn.
What we don't want to see is the back swing collapse and the hands and arms fold and the shoulder stop working. This will create many different problems but will cause huge inconsistencies and you will also struggle to strike the ball.
Notice a swing I've worked on today. The swing was very long and uncontrollable at the beginning but with a few really good drills and hitting a few shots we got averages up and consistency in his swing.
Before, club is lost and can't be seen at the top of his backswing due to the collapse
Improved swing which create more distance and consistency all from a short back swing but a better shoulder turn.
If you would like to make changes in your swing or would like to improve your consistency and ball strike please click here and let me take a look at your swing and see what we can do to improve you.
Do you expect much from putting ?
Take a look at the US stats below and see if they surprise you and do you expect to hole the same amount as a tour player. Don't put so much pressure on your putting and you will hole more!

5ft - 75%
