Craigcomes out on top
Last Saturday saw Kidderminster host the annualStewart Smith competition. For just under 100years the Stewart Smith trophy has been playedfor and started out as a individual competition, moved to foursomes and then moved back toindividual around 5 years ago due to the lack ofsupport for foursomes golf.
This year saw a yet again a fully booked fieldbattle it out for the £300best gross winner and the Stewart Smith Trophy.Condition were very tough with the pins tuckedaway, the breeze picking up during the day andthe ground being very dry and bouncy, birdieswere hard to come by and patience was what wasneeded for the day.
Craig Richardson one of Kidderminster'sestablished players and county player fired agross 71, winning by 5 shots from Luke Rogersfollowed by Henry James, both fromKidderminster. Congratulations to Craig for awonderful display and a extremely good scoreunder those conditions. See Craig in the aboveimage with the trophy being presented by ourVice Captain - John Holt.
