Course news

When will we ever get going?

Last week When writing my newsletter I sent a picture of the course covered in snow. I thought be Thursday we would see the end of the snow and finally we can get going. How wrong I was. Friday saw around 4 to 5 inches of snow and again golf came to a halt. Even having the studio many members couldn’t get to the club as Oldnall Road was almost impossible to get up. I say almost impossible but that didn’t stop my 8 o’clock lesson on Saturday morning who parked down on the main road and walked in to have his lesson. Now that’s dedication for you.

Ex Walker Cup player gets fitted in the studio

On Wednesday I had the pleasure to fit Darren Prosser. Darren has been fabulous player for years both as a amateur and a professional. Representing GB & I in the Walker Cup and then winning many tournaments once he turned professional.

Darren got fitted for a set of Titleist irons and the new SM7 Vokey wedges. Darren will be receiving them soon and will be testing them out in trying to gain his seniors tour card at the end of the year. Good luck Darren.

What’s happening in the shop at the moment

If you have visited the shop lately you will notice how well stocked it is. We work extremely hard in making sure Kidderminster is one of the best stocked shops in the area. We keep striving to make it better and better and with your support it will only improve.

What’s the pro shop staff up to this week?

Matt continues to learn the trade, a really nice lad and I’m sure you will be impressed with his attitude and how nice a lad he is, pop in and say hello. Noel played the Belfry yesterday with Bill Styles and they shot 37 points as a better ball which is a great knock considering how wet the course was. I’ve been busy fitting, teaching and getting everything ready for the season. I’m also away this weekend as me and Dee are off to Bath for a weekend away without the kids, can’t wait.
