Get your free golf balls this week
This Saturday and Tuesday sees Srixon sponsoring the medals. Anybody that enters the competition will receive a free sleeve of golf balls. I applied for Srixon to sponsor 2 of our medals and was lucky enough to be successful. Srixon have kindly donated over £1000 worth off golf balls for me to hand out to all members that enter the Saturday competition and the Ladies competition on Tuesday.
Chipping to success
On Monday I ran my 2nd summer clinic, which was chipping. We ran through many different shots to help members with their short game through the summer months.
1. Chip shot over a bunker. I spoke about the technique and the best club to use for this situation.
2. Basic chip and run. Again I spoke about the technique and landing spots.
3. Bunker shots. I taught the class about different sand types and how to play for different slopes.
I will be running more clinics in the next month so keep your eyes on the newsletter and subscribe if any of these clinic take your fancy. All clinic are £10 per person.
Charles Tilling enjoying his new toys
I have been teaching Charles for many years now and over the past few years Charles's game has improved very well except for the driver off the tee. We have tried many different ways for Charles to hit the ball with the driver but we could never get it consistent. I then spoke to Charles about the new TaylorMade SLDR mini. This is a shorter shafted, more lofted, smaller headed driver; it's designed for people who can hit their 3 wood but struggle with the driver. Charles tried the 14-degree mini and has improved instantly. Charles now hits the ball with less sidespin and has great control, this is down to the shorter shaft and more loft. Charles trolley also gave up the ghost and he has treated himself to the new Powakaddy freeway 3 with the plug and play battery. The trolley sells at £299 with a 2-year guarantee. We have the trolleys in stock so why not come along and see for yourself. We also take part exchange on all old trolleys.
The great British weather
The weather continues to be very inconsistent and is always very hard to judge weather you will get wet during around or not. Over the past few days I have seen some great cloud formations and rainbows so I thought I would share these images with you.
PING Custom fit day fully booked
On the 21st of August I have a fitting day. This is now fully booked but if you would like to be placed on the reserve list then please click here.
PING Putting Competition
Last Saturday I ran a putting competition. Many thanks for all that took part in the competition. We have a play off for the PING bag between Tony Tench and Martin Gregory both with 16 putts. I will let you know the winner after they have played off.
What's the pro shop staff up to this week?
I continue to be busy teaching and I'm away playing in the Captains day out at Sutton Coldfield on Friday. Noel continues to be busy teaching and his back is still Improving. Jack is doing well in the shop and my Dad continues to repair the trolleys.
