A great amount of money raised for charity On Saturday our President, Malcolm held his annual President's Day Competition. We had just under 140 entries and the day went brilliantly. The format we chose was power play, this is where you get two flag on certain greens and if you select the tougher flag off the tee and get a best par or better your points are doubled. The power play holes were in some great positions, like 6 inches on the front edge on 18. The day was all to raise money for charity and to play for the Sally Battin trophy which Roger Downing and his wife donated in memory of their daughter. During the day we had a raffle as well as a silent auction for different 4 balls and in the end we raised just over £1300 which is a amazing amount of money for one day. Well done to all concerned. The winners on the day with an incredible score of 59 points were the husband and wife team of Sue and George Baylis. A wonderful knock and also congratulations to another husband and wife team for winning the best mixed which was our vice captain Will Painter and his wife Claire. |
