10 years and still going strong

On Monday I celebrated 10 years as professional at Kidderminster. The 10 years I have been the professional at Kidderminster have been a pleasure. The club is blessed with so many wonderful members and a fantastic golf course with brilliant facilities. Its been a honour to be the professional at such a fantastic club for the past 10 years. Many thanks for all your support.

President's day raised good money 

Last Saturday, Brian Adams our President put on the annual President's day. We had great fun with a changed golf course. We had the 1st playing from the mound at 190 yards and then the other pars 3s were 75 yards. We also played power play on 4 holes. Power play is 2 flag and you selected the flag and can earn more points for playing to the harder flag. We also sold mulligans for £1 each. The scores were as follows:

1st Nick White and Gary Saunders 62 points
2nd George Baylis and Tony Tench 62 points (lost on the back 9) 
3rd John Holt and Alan Penny 60 points.

Mixed- Sue Billings and Mark Cox 50 points. Sue having a hole in 1 on the 15th with 2 shots for a 1 nett -1 for 6 points. Well-done Sue.

Ladies- Shelia Chambers and Gill Sanderson 50 points.

The most impressive part of the day was the amount we raised for charity. £460 is brilliant for the day. Well done to all that played. 

Lithium Batteries the way forward

Is your battery not quite making 18 holes? Will your battery see the winter through? We are now selling lithium batteries to suit all trolleys. The cost is £199, which includes the charger. That might sound a lot of money but when you look into buying a battery, lithium has a 5-year warranty where a lead acid is only a single year. Lithium is 75 % lighter and last 5 times longer. Coming to Kidderminster golf club on the 31st of October, Night Golf. The list will be going up soon. You will receive a special mail telling you when the entry form will be going up.

Pat Smith Golf academy golf day, 16th of October

On the 16th of October I will be running a golf day for everybody who reads this newsletter. The day is sponsored by 2 major golf brands and will be great day with many different things happening on the day. 

The day will consist of the following: 
Arrive to Bacon bap and coffee. Also you will receive a goody bag. 
18 holes of golf. 4 ball alliance. 
Evening meal with a winter coaching pack and lesson deals. 
Prize giving.

What's the pro shop staff up to this week?

This week continues to be busy with September being one of the busiest months of the year. I have a busy teaching diary this week. Noel continues to be occupied teaching. Jack is finding his feet very well and is learning the trick of the trade and my Dad is busy mending the trolleys.
