State of the art system now at Kidderminster Welcome to the second newsletter of the year and hope your settling down after the Christmas period. This year I have invested heavily in to a state of the art launch monitor. The monitor will give a massive amount of information for every shot hit, which in turn will help you understand what's happening and when we make swing changes you can see from the readings how that change has effected the shot and how it's improved. The foresight GC2 machine is a machine that sits next to the golf ball and after you have hit the ball it will give the following readings.
- Ball speed
- Launch angle
- Side angle
- Side spin
- Back spin
- Peak height
- Descent angle
- Carry distance
- Shot dispersion
All these reading will be shown on the GC2 machine and also blue toothed on to my I pad where we can then run through all the results and begin the changes and watch the figures alter depending on what we change.
After we have used the GC2 all our findings and changes will be emailed to you so you can see for yourself, also all sessions will be stored on the iPad.
We can also offer the following using the system as well as coaching:
Custom fitting
Ball fitting
Gap testing
All sessions using the GC2 will be 1 hour sessions as we will struggle to offer all the stats and explaining each figure in less time.
For a 1 hour GC2 session the cost is £40 for members and £45 for non-members.
The first 10 people to book a GC2 session, will pay £25 for members and £30 for non-members. Click here to avoid disappointment.
The new Titleist 915 range is now in
This week we have started to see new stock rolling in for 2015. This week we have received the new Titleist 915 wood range, along with Scotty Cameron putters, Vockey wedges and irons. The new wood range comes with a fantastic write up. It's the first driver Titleist have ever produced that has been about distance. The new active recoil channel maximises of centre hits. Come in now and let see if we can gain you distance.
Welcome back Phil Brookes
After a year out due to a back operation Phil Brookes returned last Saturday for his first lesson and his first golf shots since his layoff. Phil had a great lesson and it was brilliant to see him back on the golf course after such a long time.
County development centre
I have been selected to become a County development coach.
What this entails is 8 to 10 boys, between the age of 10 to 14 (potential County players in the future) from Kidderminster and golf clubs in the area. It will be 1 session every month (Saturday afternoons possibly) for 2 hours, April through to September. It will be mainly skill related sessions, only a small part of the sessions will be technique, they will be assessed on all results and the results will be sent back to the County for them to monitor. This will be great way to get a few of my academy juniors into the structure along with other juniors and push them into the County squads.
School coaching
I have now secured coaching at 6 primary schools and 1 high school. We will be offering golf in the following schools; Spennells, Comberton, Offmore, Chaddesley, St George's and St Ambrose. We will be offer a taster session during February or March for years 3 and 4 (7 & 8 years old) and then after Easter we will offer more sessions at each school followed by a after school club, the first 2 sessions will be at the school and the last 3 sessions will be at the golf club. After this we will hopefully bring them into our Saturday academy sessions and then integrate them into the golf club from there.
The high school is King Charles and with the high school I will go into the school and offer a taster session and then again offer sessions after school but all these sessions will be back at the golf club.
What's the pro shop staff been up to?
This week we have been busy getting things set up for the season ahead. My Dad has decorated the shop and it now looks nice, clean and tidy.
