LOFT UP FOR MORE DISTANCE
It's always been a myth in golf that the lower the ball flight the further it will go because of the roll. This is false. In order for you to gain distance and create better golf shots, the ball need to fly in the air. Using the launch monitor we are looking for a launch angle over 14 degrees through impact and to create between 2000rpm and 2600 rpm of back spin, these figures will give you your ultimate distance. If you think of firing a cannon, in order for you to fire the cannon as far as you can you would launch the cannon in the air, same with watering flowers in the garden using a hose pipe, if the water can't quite reach you increase the angle so the water can carry further. Using a driver is exactly the same.
Please see below a driver fitting I did this week.
OLD DRIVER 10.5 degrees
NEW DRIVER 12 Degrees
As you can see from the above figures. The launch angle is averaging 14 degrees, however the back spin is only 1810 rpm and the peak height is only 16 yards.
As you can see above, from a simple club change we have gain 3 mph ball speed, 2 degrees more launch angle, 900 rpm more back spin, 7 yards more height and 15 yards more carry. If you look closely at the figures, the more launch angle the more distance.
Could we gain you 15 yards? Book you sessions by click here and lets have a go.
Happy Customer
Over the past few weeks, since I've been fitting with the GC2 machine, newsletter readers have loved the experience they have had with having a fitting and have been really impressed with the difference we have made to their game.
John Rose
Got fitted for the new Titleist 915 woods and have been very pleased, not only have the woods gained me more yards and a better ball flight but I have been hitting the ball much straighter and on Saturday I managed to play 18 holes without missing a fairway.
Ian Giddins
Wrote to Titleist regarding his experience:
"I've had the clubs professional fitted with Patrick Smith at Kidderminster Golf Club. I must say he's done a fantastic professional job with your brand and he's gave me all the time I needed to get them right."
Callaway and Odyssey has arrived
This week I took delivery of the new Callaway XR range. The clubs look and perform amazing well and already members have taken advantage of the new range. This is the first time I have stocked Callaway and I'm looking forward to watching how well the product performs and how much the members will enjoy hitting the range.
Bill has the style for 2015
Bill Styles had a full fitting on Saturday and the readings came out excellent. More yards and more speed. Many thanks Bill and maybe you can now continue to take the money of my father in law every week.
Macey is now a member
Last week my daughter became a member of the golf club. Having asked a few members I do believe she is the youngest ever member of the golf club at 5 years old. I'm looking forward to watching her bloom in to a very good golfer in years to come. She has the best start possible with a great golf course, great practice facilities and free lessons so there is no excuse!
Do you know somebody who fancies giving golf a go?

What's the pro shop staff up to?
This week is extremely busy and as we are only in February, I'm extremely pleased! Both Noel and I have the Worcestershire PGA AGM on Thursday and my Get in to Golf starts Saturday. Noel's back is still not quite right and is seeing a physio to try and help him. Jack is working hard at his game and is ready for the season. My dad goes in to hospital Tuesday for a new hip and will be away from the shop for around 3 weeks.
