What a week of fitting days
Last week we held 2 fitting days. The first fitting was last Wednesday which saw PING bring along their G30 range. We had a fully booked day, the weather shone and we had so much fun. We saw massive gains in fitting the correct woods and also much better consistency when members used the correct lie angle on the golf club along with the correct shaft, grips and flex.
PING have a great product range in the G30. They have 3 different drivers depending on your swing, ball flight and shape. All the woods are adjustable in lofts as well.
G30 driver - this driver suits straight hitters that hit a medium ball flight.
G30 SF TEC- this is a draw biased driver to help people who hit the slice.
G30 LS TEC- this driver is designed to hit the ball lower and to reduce back spin.
Titleist fitting day
On Friday we had Titleist come down for the day with their new 915 range. Again we were lucky with the weather and it was another fully booked day. We saw more gains again, reducing spin rates and decreasing launch angles saw a gain of 27 yards by one member. A great day All round except for me having to pick up over 2000 balls on my own at the end.
What amazes me
To my amazement, it's still convincing people that the modern technology and the launch monitors do work and it's not "a bad work man always blames his tools", you have to have the corrects tools in the first place. I see people daily going out playing golf, frustrated with their games but they are giving themselves no chance with the clubs they are using. If you are thinking about making a change, book a session and come and try the new technology, if you don't see any benefit or we cannot improve you then I won't charge you. Now that's got to be a good thing.
The junior academy becoming slightly difficult last weekend as it was raining. This doesn't stop our academy, we strip the lounge back and get them putting, we set up games and have great fun.

We have just received 3 new buggies. They are top of the range with ball washers, divots mix holders, 36 hole batteries and a back curtain to cover your clubs if it's raining. Book your buggy today on 01562 740090.

What's the pro shop staff up to this week?
My dad is now returning back to work after his hip replacement. I'm away for the bank holiday, down to Bude and will be back to work Thursday. Before I go away, I have the school Tri golf festival on the practice ground on Friday with over 100 children playing. Noel is back playing, he played Malvern last week and his back held up well. Jack continues to work on his course work and is really doing well in the shop.
