After a wonderful holiday in Spain, I'm now refreshed and ready to go again. I had a lovely time, played golf twice, ate far too much, drank too much but most of all got to spend some quality time with my wife and daughter.
As a golf professional the summer time is when you have the window of opportunity to earn your money because you're not sure how the winters are going to be and with the sport being a fair weather sport you have to make hay whilst the sun shines this means being out of the house and away from the family for many hours during the summer so a week's break is much need and welcomed.
Junior coaching camp 2nd session
During the summers school holidays we have been running summer camps. Last week was our second camp and Noel managed them all on his own as I was away.
He had 12 juniors and they played different games on the main practice ground finishing off with playing a hole.
They had great fun. Our last session is next Wednesday so if you fancy giving it a go then please click here.

Congratulations to Judy Taylor and Keith. Broadbent for winning the T Harman-Smith cup last weekend. Judy has just returned from breaking her wrist on the course some months back so this is a great achievement. Well done.
Seniors pairs open was won for the second year in a row by Roy Clough and Dave Colwell beating Mike Thompson and Frank Concannon on the back nine. This was a wonderful achievement on a day that had 142 entries from 30 different golf clubs. The weather also held up. Well done to all that organised and took part on the day.
Don't forget we have many events happening at the golf club. Please keep your eye on the various notice boards to find out more. Coming up in August we still have a few great days and nights.
Presidents' Day. This is an annual event hosted by our president and this year Brian Adams is putting on another great day.
We will have many different things happening on the day and the format is always good fun. This is then followed by the presidents tea and the presentation. This start sheet is in the lounge and is open to all category of member.
Golfer non golfer. This is a great evening where the golfer plays to the green and the non golfer putts out.
This was over subscribed last time but the weather was shocking and we had to cancel the golf, this has now been re arranged and the start sheet is now in the corridor between the lounge and the men's changing room.
What's the pro shop staff up to?
